Falling Cat (Étienne-Jules Marey, 1894)

The French scientist Étienne-Jules Marey produced and directed several short films studying the behavior of animals. In 1984, he recorded a cat falling down and landing on its feet, in a short film which would eventually be considered the first recording of a cat in the history of cinema.

This restoration, done in 2022 by MarsCat, was created using the best quality footage available online, and it's now available here for free to download, watch and share.
